Ferrari Enzo Successor

June 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ferrari is working on a successor to the Enzo that could be the lightest, quickest two-seater ever to roll out of Maranello. Ferrari feels that lighter cars can be the best way to reach its goal of increasing fuel economy 40% and reducing emissions 25 % without compromising its reputation for performance. The new car will be out in two year’s time. A 600-horsepower car that weighs 2,200 pounds; Car and Driver says that Ferrari will intro the as-yet-unnamed car in 2010. C&D says it won’t be called the Millechili however it will resemble the styling concept (pictured) Ferrari showed off last year. The car will have an aluminum space frame similar to the F430 Scuderia but stretched to a wheelbase of 104.3 inches and fitted with a V10 engine. Via Luxury Launches.

BMW Gina Light Visonary Model Concept

June 16, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Now this is what I call a mean machine. The headlamps of the BMW Gina concept looks like a pair of fiery eyes of a dragon. GINA stands for Geometry and Functions in ‘N’ Adaptations. The car has a sheath of textile fabric that’s blended with the carbon fiber and metallic frame of the car. Somehow, the developers have managed to create a real skin and skeleton structure in which the parts of the body of the car can bend and contract. Even the headlamps of the car seem to be real eyes with a pair of eyelids protecting them.

Maybach Customized Packages

June 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Maybach 57 which we reported on months back is goes taking the car a step further in ensuring you feel like royalty when you ride the car, all the chrome trim rudiments in the vehicle interior are gold-plated with a wafer-thin layer of genuine 24-carat gold. And if shimmy is your style then you can even opt for the golden keys. If muted sophistication (other than wood and leather) is your style then you can ask for the trim elements to be crafted from naturally occurring granite. Maybach also offers Business Packages to their customers as an ex-factory option. The Maybach mobile office system includes mobile Internet access. A printer can also be included in the package should the customer require it. Wireless Bluetooth technology allows the car owner’s laptop to be integrated on board. While working on it, the computer can be placed on one of the fold-down tables between the rear seats, and when not in use, it can be stowed away in a multifunction compartment on the back of the seats.

Scuderia Bizzarrini P538 in rendered glory

May 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

An Italian super car is hard to ignore especially one which is designed by Giotto Bizzarrini, the sportscar guru whose career brought him to the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo and Iso. His famed creations include the Ferrari 250 GTO and Lamborghini V12. The Scuderia Bizzarrini P538 uses the chassis from Galmer Arbitrage GT and is powered by a mid-mounted Chevrolet LS7 V8.

Bodywork is suitably stunning, looking something like a cross between a Lotus, a Koenigsegg and a Porsche Carrera GT, but with its own unique flavor. Although it does not seem that Giotto Bizzarrini was involved in the project himself, he is said to have given his approval.

Bentley X Continental DC Green Petite Ride

May 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

With so many luxury cars stepping in the green arena, its clear that drivers with overweight wallets don’t need to sacrifice driving performance for fuel efficiency. The latest brand to join the bandwagon of green luxurious cars is Bentley with its Continental DC (yeah DC stands for Direct Current) electric car. And its not that people who can afford this brand will go for this green baby only because of the rising gasoline prices. Its actually out there to lure all the well heeled to do something for their environment. And what better way of doing it then by driving a Bentley! Although not very good-looking, this battery powered car is powered by a 24-volt electric motor producing 0.5 horsepower and 5.1 pound-feet of torque. More flavor is added by a pair of 12-volt batteries.

Maël Oberkampf has designed the M-Zero concept car and it takes inspiration from BMW M series. The car also has shades of Mercedes Benz (as the backlight) and DB9 Aston Martin. Although the designer tried to make the design as close to the R8 from Audi, it’s actually a “synthesis” of the BMW.

2009 Bentley Brooklands

April 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

One of only 550 that will ever be built and one of just two in the United States right now (the other is parked at Manhattan Motorcars in New York City), the Bentley Brooklands he drove is the most expensive and rare vehicle in Bentley’s lineup. It has a base price of $340,990, though this one was optioned up to $391,465 with items like 20-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels; an interior comprised entirely of Burnt Oak leather hides, Burr Walnut wood veneers and chromed stainless steel; and the world’s largest carbon ceramic disc brakes. Besides giving us the nitty-gritty of driving such a fabulous car, he also gives us a fair view on what it’s like to drive an ace! Check out the review here.

Are you a sports car freak and read every auto magazine possible? Here’s some more ammo for you! The German boutique sports car maker Wiesmann revealed details on its newest handmade creation, the 507 horsepower MF5 coupe. The car is the company’s most capable sports car to date, and is loosely based on the MF4 coupe. The difference is that it is larger in every dimension and packs 140 more horsepower thanks to the BMW M5-sourced V10 engine. With a seven-speed SMG transmission, the car’s performance is rated at 3.9 seconds in the sprint to 62mph, with a 192 mph top speed. Not only that, this beauty weighs just a little over 3,040 lbs thanks to an aluminum chassis and composite body panels. Weismann engineers developed the car’s aerodynamics, and fitted the MF5 with a rear diffuser and spoiler to help keep it planted at speed.BMW’s ABS as well dynamic stability control (DSC) systems were also integrated into the MF5.
