1928 Mercedes ‘S’ Type at Retromobile for $4,750,000
January 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Retromobile is the most famous and desirable Collectors’ Motor Car Show of its kind in the world. Three of the most technically interesting and aesthetically beautiful European pre-war cars to feature within Bonhams’ inaugural Rétromobile Paris Sale, will be a 1928 example of the legendary supercharged Type ‘S’ Mercedes, the world’s sole surviving, privately-owned Farman dating from 1921, and a gargantuan 10.6-litre 1905 Panhard-Lavassor. Headlining the sale will be the 1928 Mercedes ‘S’ Type, estimated at Euros 2,250,000-3,250,000 ($3,300,000 – $4,750,000). The car was commissioned by Mercedes-Benz’s Paris agency to be the highlight of their stand at the annual Paris Salon, exactly 80 years ago. With bodywork by the legendary Parisian coachbuilder J Saoutchik, whose styling designs were intricate, versatile and beautiful, the car has many unique features from a disappearing hood mechanism to individual suitcases stowed behind each seat, as well as an ultra low windscreen. With such aesthetics and functionality, it is perhaps easy to see why this car has had just two owners, both in America, since new.

Nike Womens Court Force High Blazer X Bambi

All the other characters have gotten some love with collaborations of their own but Bambi’s finally getting some love. Here is a look at the “Bambi” inspired Nike WMNS Court Force High and Blazer Low. An interesting use of materials to say the least the mixture of denim, premium leather, and “deer fur” is actually quite nice.

Here is the third release of the series that released a few days ago. A little more subtle in terms of color, this style also features a zipper in the side, much like we are used from the Mastermind Japan collaborations with Visvim. Just like the other two gold and silver colorways, this one also comes with the embossed scorpion.

Back Door Bottega X Nike Be True
January 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment
There are nice stores out there and then there are amazing stores. When Italian interior design meets streetculture you can certainly expect something good to come out. One of the most interesting stores, not only in Italy, but all of Europe, to open its doors recently is back door Bottega in Bologna/Italy. Concentrating on a lifestyle that is all about Nike trainers and Jordans, they build a beautiful store fusing modern design with classic Italian interior.
Recently back door Bottega held the opening of the Nike Be True Dunk campaign and had a really nice setup prepared. Most of you were probably not there, so we give you a look right now. Eisaku Kito’s DIVA sculpture is part of the campaign, and they had several of them in store matching each Dunk color. Article by Highsnobiety.com
