Kool Aid X Reebok

January 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Athletic brand Reebok has teamed with Kool Aid to produce a new range of funky, scented kicks.

The sneakers come in eye popping colours representative of Kool Aid flavors and, to really emphasize the collaborated branding, they’ve scented the soles of the shoes with six sweet flavors.

Is that to mask the smell of dog poo if you step in it? Who knows! They’ve obviously been researching cutting edge marketing techniques. According to recent studies, targeting olfactory senses is one of the most effective ways to create lasting impressions in the minds of consumers.

Gundam Robot Too Pricey

January 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Care to spend a $725 million on a life-sized Gundam robot? If Yay, then hang around as it isn’t ready yet but chances are bright as a Japanese site has literally listed an estimate cost of this giant humanoid that will stand 60 feet tall. And this colossal price tag doesn’t included the cost of labor nor does it include the cost of the infrastructure needed to support the machine once you are ready to climb aboard and take it for a walk. Moreover if you think that after paying so much you can fly this robot or utilize its fancy weapons then sorry to say that this Gundam will only be able to walk. However a 43-ton robot of would face a number of physical challenges, such as the inability to walk without completely destroying the ground surface beneath its feet. An IBM Blue Gene supercomputer would serve as the Gundam’s computer system ($1.5 million), and its movements would be driven by 30 giant 400KW motors — 12 in the legs, 2 in the torso, 14 in the arms, and 2 in the neck. A 400KW motor is quite powerful by comparison; the Shinkansen bullet train uses a 300KW motor. The motors alone would cost $7.8 million. Roll over to read thru precise cost listing

Bugatti Veyron 3 Million Dollar Track Car

January 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

If you trust the rumors, then you will believe that Bugatti is coming up with a much better of the already so-good Veyron. This new much talked about model is said to be underdevelopment under the codename “Project Lydia,” after Ettore Bugatti’s wife. It is believed that the new model could be an even more expensive, even faster supercar than the Veyron. Whereas the Veyron, for all its enormous, time-bending power and speed, was designed as a comfortable grant tourer, the new model would be a tighter, more track-focused supercar. Power would likely come from a retuned version of the Veyron’s 8-liter quad-turbo W16, which was long reported to be under-rated in its power production of 1000 hp, and is tipped to produce 1175 hp in the new version.
